Do as You Are Told
Try to do as the cards advise. Do not ask if you do not intend to follow. If you want to do just what you want to do, go ahead and do it. Do not ask for God's advice in vain. Do not try to bend His hand. You do not have to do readings, but if you do, be whole-hearted about it.
Be honest with yourself. If you are not ready to ask now maybe you will be ready some other time. There is no need to feel guilty about it. We are not always so saintly that we can give up our wants and follow God's wish (though it is always to our benefit when we can do that). We are only human, and that's fine.
In my experience, not following the readings makes me doubt the cards. It makes me doubt the fact that God is talking to me, not only through the cards, but constantly and in many ways. Usually, this happens only when I get an answer that I do not want to hear. When the answer is in line with what I want to do, there is no problem!
If you do not follow what the reading said, you will start thinking that you did not understand it right. You will ask again and again. Finally God will get tired of answering the same question, and you will start getting conflicting answers. You will get confused, and everything will be one big mess. Now, why would you want to do that?
Sad to say I have a recent example. One day I was working on this book, but wanted to watch TV instead. I decided to ask God about it. First I asked if I should turn the computer off. I picked up a card that says "Remote possibility", which meant that I should go on working. Normally to confirm it, my next question would be "God, do You want me to go on working?". But, I did not want to go on working, I wanted a break. So instead I asked: "Should I watch TV?".
This was very dishonest on my part, since I was obviously not really willing to follow the reading. But, see God's sense of humor and compassion. The card I got was "Peace, happiness, holiday".
Happily I turned the TV on, only to find out it was not working! All it would show was snow! The TV was working fine half an hour earlier, but all of a sudden it was broken. I tried everything, but had to admit - God had tricked me.
The next morning, by the way, the TV worked just fine.
This incident was funny, but sometimes going the wrong way can be painful. God wants to give us short cuts to happiness. But if we insist on knocking our head on the wall - guess who is going to have a big headache...
Ask only if you are willing to follow the answer.
